Many people enjoy reading murder mysteries regularly; probably because they found a way to escape from the routine. This does not mean they are murderers, nor they would enjoy seeing the actual murder or solve it.
To them the murder mystery is a realistic fantasy, because the characters are believable as people. It is also realistic because the hero who solves the mystery does so by exercising a high degree of logic and reason, and people who enjoy murder mysteries have admiration for the human faculty of logic.
But murder mysteries are fantasies. The readers play a game in which they suspend certain human emotions, like pity. If they stopped to feel pity and sympathy for every victim or to feel horror that such thing could happen, that person will never enjoy the reading. The devoted reader keeps uppermost in mind at all times the goal of solving the mystery, through logic and observation. It is a game with life and death, hopefully helps the reader to hide from the horrors and death of the real world.

I choose this work because I value life and someday when I am older and have the means to help people I will, with joy in my hearth.

I want you to focus on:

It is quite hard to expose your life in a compilation of songs, not the easiest thing but I shall try. Each and every single one of these songs gave me strength, hope, happiness, even advice when I needed it the most. Music is life, I'll never get tired of saying it. "Well, you see, the way I feel about the music, it can be copied, you know?
But, it’s not copy do it, it’s the feel, you know? It carry a feel

Well, you ask plenty musicians -- them know it, but them can't do it
Some people still searching for this truth here"- Bob Marley

1. Soundtrack to my life- by Kid Cudi.
Why this song? Well, it's a great way to start my soundtrack, it is a perfect description of my life, it talks about problems and issues that nobody can see but me. He may be talking about his life but I totally relate to this song. I heard it for the first time 3 years ago, and it became one of my favorites.

2. Family Portrait- P!nk

This song represents my childhood, it's not easy when your parents are always fighting even when they are already divorced. Nothing explains this stage of my life better than this song. Children know everything even when they don't show it. I think it makes us stronger and determined to someday have that solid marriage that our parents couldn't have.

3. Amor y Control- Rúben Blades

I have given tickets to two concerts of this man to my mom, because he is one of her favorites. He's one of my favorites too...so I always go with her. This song talks about family, there's no other topic more sensitive for me because, I don't really like to admit it but my family is dysfunctional and the bit of the son being a drug user became a reality in my family. I love my brother but he actually went that way, he's good now but some years ago, it was a very hard time for my family and specially my mom. "Que a pesar de los problemas familia es familia y cariño es cariño" is my favorite quote...I cry every time I hear this song, and there is no way I wasn't going to put it in this list.

4. Run this town- Jay Z ft. Rihanna and Kanye West

This song represents my "wild moment" in life, this was from eleventh grade to like third year of university. I partied and kept partying, I knew a LOT of people and a lot of people knew me. I used to go to Brava and a lot of places with my girls and we didn't even had to pay in the entrance, the alcohol or do the lines, because everyone knew us... so' this song (haha!) describes those moments.

5. Wild ones- Flo-rida ft. Sia

Another song about my "wild times", this one is even called that way! I was many years in that life, so I felt that it deserved another song.

6. Miss Independent- Ne-yo

One of my favorite songs of all time. I can stop hearing it for years and then when I hear it, it feels like the first time. It describes me as a woman, I'm very proud and I will not ask for anything to anyone if I can work to get it.

7. Fly- Nicky Minaj ft. Rihanna

This song represents my focus towards my goals, me becoming a pharmacist and all the work I have done and will do just to achieve that. This song is important because I may have been crazy with my life, but always managed to focus on my future and didn't neglect my studies. It's about going after what you want because no one will hand it to you if you don't fight for it.

8. Headlines- Drake

First of all I love the beat of this song and the style, this is my favorite type of music. This song is a MUST HAVE in my soundtrack because it's about friends, if one goes up and gets glory one should share all the victories with them, the ones that were always there in the bad situations and moneyless moments. I actually just read an article of Zach Galifianakis (Alan from The Hangover), in which it said that he bought an apartment for a homeless woman and took her to the premiere of The Hangover III. She was his friend when he wasn't successful...and when became successful he still visited her and helped her when she became homeless. This is what this song is about, friendship and NOT forgetting who they really are, because when you are up everybody wants to be your friend but when you are in a bad situation they just leave, just the real ones stay.

9. Hello- Beyonce

This song is about the part of my life where I meet someone very special for me (like 2nd year of university), it describes everything I felt from the very beginning. He had me at hello!

10. Pursuit of happiness- Kid Cudi

This song is totally not in chronological order because I will always be on the pursuit of happiness so there is no specific number I can give it. It's even on the Declaration of Independence..."Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness". It's a MUST in everyones life!

11. Mirrors- Justin Timberlake & The Scientist- Coldplay

Sometimes two people like each other very much but things don't work out because of many reasons, and after not talking for 1 and a half years with the boy who had me at hello...we came close again. We were so similar, same interests, everything... he was like me, boy version haha! I was in a bubble thinking everything will be different and I was going to get what I dreamed for 2 years.  These songs are imperative in here. Also I LOVE them.

13. Holy Grail- Jay Z ft. Justin Timberlake

After a while I realized that nothing was actually different, the exactly same description in this song happened. Sometimes people try to ignore the bad things because you don't want to lose the person or in the case of this song, the fame.

14. Deuces- Chris Brown ft. Tyga and Kevin McCall

When people is not happy, they are supposed to part ways, so start a new life without that person is what I did. Deuces! ;)

15. Fix you- Coldplay

Then another important thing in my life came to bite me in the ass. I had applied last year to the School of Pharmacy in el Recinto de Ciencias Medicas, and after an interview and everything a letter arrived to my home. I was not accepted! So' everything from love to dreams fell apart in a second... it just came at the same time...

When you try your best but you don't succeed
When you get what you want but not what you need
When you feel so tired but you can't sleep
Stuck in reverse

And the tears come streaming down your face
When you lose something you can't replace
When you love someone but it goes to waste
Could it be worse?

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you

And high up above or down below
When you're too in love to let it go
But if you never try you'll never know
Just what you're worth

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you

16. Lose yourself- Eminem

This song gives me the strength to keep fighting for what I want, and to leave fear far away from me. If you have fear you will never do anything with your life...so' this song helps remind me of that. "You only get one shot, do not miss the chance to blow this opportunity comes once in a lifetime", "Success is my only motherfu**ing option, failure's not" and "So here I go is my shot, feet fail me not this may be the only opportunity that I got" are my favorite quotes in this song. This song have very powerful and meaningful lyrics for me.

17. High Time- Brent Berry & Honest Abe

I became addicted to this song watching a series from the UK called Skins. This song represents my mentality of "living". This is the perfect time for living and nothing... no boy or rejection letter, will stand in my way to live fully and to achieve my goals. Not stoping for anybody!

18. El wanabi- Fiel a la Vega

This song does NOT need any type of description... it says it all!

quizás mi sueño no valga nada,
quizás sea algo que me inventé
como un mapa como una guía,
como una excusa que promover,
Soñar tiene algo de engañarnos
de ser hoy alguien más que ayer
malagradeciendo lo que se nos a dado
pués nos importa más saber,
como sería todo al otro lado
que te escucharan solo una vez,
Que aplaudieran esa osadia
Que criticaron la primera vez
sé que se oye egocentrista
pero lo digo sin maldad.
Si nada de esto significa algo
No habría un Clemente,
NO habría un Julia...

-Coro-

Pero yo quiero que nos entendamos
que nadie se me ponga a dudar
de que yo sigo con lo mio
y eso es a como de lugar
quizás, no es el mismo brillo
quizás, no es misma la intensidad
pero ya pasé la mitad del camino
y no pienso regresar
con las manos vacias con lamentos
con un cuento sin culminar
no quiero irme concediendo
otra victoria a esta ciudad...

19. Feeling good by Nina Simone

This song represents my life right now, this very moment. Focused on my studies, giving importance to what's really important in life, doing things right and applying to universities in the united states. I'm feeling good! Because I know that I will make it and next year I'll be in the United States studying to be a pharmacist and being independent. Actually I'm not feeling good, I'm feeling great!

20. I was here by Beyonce

I love this song and it's the perfect ending to any life or in this case "the soundtrack to my life"... it's like a summary of your life and letting everyone know that you were here, you lived here, you left some kind of mark on this Earth!

Of these twenty songs I would say that my theme song is: "El wanabi" by Fiel a la Vega. It has been relevant for me since forever and I know it will always be, even if it's just to remind me of my twenties.

After reading "A Collegiette's Classification of UPR men" and having a blast just by doing so, I would change just like a thing or two, because the rest is pretty accurate. The classifications, especially the scientic names given, were perfect. I would specify that these are the most you would see in any given faculty but there are exceptions. Also I can prove that the crocs are out of fashion (for my taste they were never fashionably!) for the Naturales men, aka homo jodido, maybe they met with their NOT SO distant cousin homo cabrónus last christmas, because the Top-Siders (Sperry's) are the shoes every guy in Naturales has. Also I would divide Naturales by departments because every department has an affinity or a cousin from different faculties in this University. It's not so simple, Naturales is so much more complex than just the homo jodido type, I mean the name is perfect cause in the end everyone is jodido in Naturales but the scientific name should have a last name or something distinguishably by department.
In Naturales you can find the biologists who are, I wouldn't say "distant cousin of the homo cabrónus" I would call it the same homo cabrónus but jodido!, you know like the applied twin; usually a conversation with them is about the MCAT, Palomino, Palmas del Mar, or Brava. You can find the Chemists who are the homo cabrónus cousin who doesn't have time to sleep or go to the mall, so' uses whatever t-shirt he can find in the morning, conversations with them leads to MCAT, PCAT, GRE or physical chemistry, aka the class who 95% of chemists try run away from (I can say this because I am from chemistry, and I did try to run away from it). Apart from them, El Sapo gives shelter to the ones in Ciencias Naturales general program, skaters, gamers, random, awkward people who obviously have too much free time on their hands, they are close family of the homo charro for sure. The ones from Ciencias Ambientales can be confused with the homo trafala from HUMA or the homo lumpen from CISO, they usually  make you feel very guilty of drinking water from a bottle and not recycling, they also have a little garden in the middle of Naturales who only have given birth to a tomato, in 5 years! But the real myth in Naturales are the physics and mathematics who are up there with the Homo invisible, because in my 5 years I have not meet even one. Then there are the guys who you never see in all of the semester and see them for the first time (with muscles, tan, well dressed and very well rested) in finals and they are the ones that make you ask: "does he even go here?!", because they obviously led a very good, perfect, active life during the semester and don't look jodido at all. If we were to talk about the girls, it would be the SAME story... I guess it's a concept that has taken a lot of time to create and will be hard to get rid of it. This story is in UPR Río Piedras Campus, i can't really talk about any other campuses because i haven't had the time to study them, like Ms. Thurin obviously did with the different faculties to get all of those unique and accurate scientific names.

My three favorite artists are Bob Marley,  Eminem and last but not least Pink. I can't really explain why they are my favorites... I mean I guess my love for their music started simply as a matter of "taste". My ears loved what they heard, the music, beats and words. Loving something it can't really be explained.

When I first heard Bob Marley, i was like 13 years old and I immediately loved him...the reggae beat, the meaningful words and I also loved how he looked, you know, the style! I could have said Cultura Profetica because of the beats but when  I think of Bob and how he invented this reggae that I love so much, well it's a no brainer that he IS my favorite. Not long ago I watched a documental of his life and I fell even more in love. He became even more important to me because I could see how important he was to the world, especially his jamaican people, he literally united them in a time of crisis and frustration. I also look up to him and find him relevant because when he was little he was rejected by his people because he was half white, half black...and he never let that rule over him, I also find the rastafari movement really interesting and I saw (obviously in videos) how he suffered in the end, with his dreadlocks falling and that just showed me how committed he was to the movement and his beliefs. When I listen to his music I literally become relaxed (in a second) and get in the mood to meditate about my life and everything that surrounds me. I usually get a conscience about what's happening around and I become displeased sometimes. I never went to a concert because this man was already 10 years dead when I was born, but I'm really looking forward to going to one of Damien Marley, one of his many sons.

www.bobmarley.com/  has information of his life and legacy. Also has information on new cd's remixed, contests to win stuff like a trip to Jamaica, has music, videos, photos, news, etc. Everything I expected and then some. User friendly.

http://www.mtv.com/artists/bob-marley/ has some videos like his final performance, news, photos, interviews, and music. I didn't have a biography or awards, I expected that in a page of MTV. Overall it was good and very user-friendly.

https://twitter.com/bobmarley Has famous quotes from Bob Marley, gives thanks to artists that collaborated in the remix and gives birthday congratulations to his family, has pictures and videos of performances.

I liked every single one of those sites, they were very user friendly, I could see some videos of performances and get some quotes to live life by ;). It gave me all the info I expected and all the info I was looking for, there was nothing missing. I was expecting to find some quotes, the biography, videos, his discography, and fans posting, and that's exactly what I got.

About Bob Marley...my favorite song is "Positive vibration" and I love the quote: "love the life you live, live the life you love", that I even have it as my cover photo in facebook. Some great lyrics from: "Could you be loved"... (just a fragment)

Don't let them fool ya,
Or even try to school ya! Oh, no!
We've got a mind of our own,
So go to hell if what you're thinking is not right!
Love would never leave us alone,
I am the darkness there must come out the light.

Could you be love and be loved?
Could you be love, wo now! - and be loved?

(The road of life is rocky and you may stumble too,
So while you point your fingers someone else is judging you)
Love your brotherman!
(Could you be - could you be - could you be love?
Could you be - could you be love?
Could you be - could you be - could you be love?
Could you be - could you be love?)

Don't let them change ya, oh!
Or even rearrange ya! Oh, no!
We've got a life to live.
They say: only - only -
Only the fittest of the fittest shall survive
Stay alive! Eh!

Picture
Other favorite artist is Eminem...he's my favorite rapper because he's the only one that sings meaningful things (comparing with famous rappers nowadays-not Tupac or other generation rap). I usually listen to his music, specially "Lose yourself", " Mockingbird" and "No love", when I have something important to do like a presentation or an interview that is really important for my life or career. I've been a fan since  I first saw his movie "8 Mile". What moves me from his music are definitely the meaning of the lyrics, for me it's relevant because it lets everyone know that he had a shitty life but he worked his ass off and against all odds he made something of himself. Also he is not afraid of anything, he says whatever he wants and feels without caring what people think. He wrote songs to his daughter Hailie, so everyone can see how much he loves his daughter, and that's very inspirational for me!  When I listen to his music I feel invincible, like I can achieve everything I want in life if I work enough for it. Unfortunately I have never been to a concert.

http://www.allmusic.com/artist/eminem-mn0000157676/biography has the highlights, biography, discography, songs, awards, credits. This site, has everything a person can want to know about an artist, it is very user friendly, i liked it because it had everything I expected. It also had the official videos of the songs.

In http://www.eminemworld.com/  I could find all the information about him (even about his tattoos), pictures, lyrics, videos, and all his songs.

In http://www.eminem.com/ I could find his new single released just like a week ago. It also has the date of release for his next album (Nov. 5, 2013) and has a link to buy the new song. It doesn't have a any information of his life, basically just the new stuff he's releasing. Maybe I expected a little more for a page called "eminem" but i liked the simplicity and it is very user friendly.

The next lyrics are from "Airplanes part II" by B.O.B. ft. Eminem

Alright let's pretend Marshall Mathers never picked up a pen
Let's pretend things would have been no different
Pretend he procrastinated, had no motivation
Pretend he just made excuses that were so paper thin they could blow away with the wind
Marshall, you're never gonna make it makes no sense to play the game there ain't no way that you'll win
Pretend he just stayed outside all day and played with his friends
Pretend he even had a friend to say was his friend
And it wasn't time to move and schools weren't changing again
He wasn't socially awkward and just strange as a kid
He had a father and his mother wasn't crazy as shit
And he never dreamed he could rip stadiums and just lazy as shit
Fuck a talent show in a gymnasium, bitch, you won't amount to shit quit daydreaming kid
You need to get your cranium checked you thinking like an alien and just ain't realistic
Now pretend they ain't just make him angry with this shit
And there was no one he could even aim when he's pissed it
And his alarm went off to wake him but he didn't make it to the Rap Olympics
Slept through his plane and he missed it
He's gon' have a hard time explaining to Hailie and Lainie these food stamps and this WIC shit
Cause he never risked shit he hoped and he wished it but it didn't fall in his lap so he ain't even here
He pretends that
Airplanes in the night sky like shooting stars
I could really use a wish right now wish right now wish right now
Can we pretend that airplanes in the night sky are like shooting stars?
I could really use a wish right now wish right now wish right now

My third favorite artist is Pink. Since I remember I have listened to Pink's music, but it's not the same to hear something as a child and some years later when you can "really listen" the music and lyrics. I love her because she is this person who also had her parents divorced, who survived drug overdose as a teenager and who never changed who she really was just to "make it" in Hollywood, like she said in "Don't let me get me". For all of this I admire her and because she is very original, there's no doubt about that. What I like of her music are the lyrics, when I hear her music I get in different moods, it depends on what song I'm hearing. My favorites are "don't let me get me", "Mr. President", "Most girls", "F*cking perfect" and of course "Family Portrait". I also have never went to a concert...but someday soon I will.

In http://www.people.com/people/pink/biography/0,,20192099,00.html I found a biography very general, but covers all the important points in her life and career. Main information, some news, and photos. Very user friendly and organized. There is nothing missing, it also says on the cover of the page "Happy Birthday Pink", because her birthday is in Sept. 8, it had everything I expected. I didn't expected music or videos in that page.

In http://www.notablebiographies.com/newsmakers2/2004-Ko-Pr/Pink.html I found some biography but it's very short and general like her name, date of birth and parents name, but has an amazing and detailed biography on her career, it also mentions all the awards she has won. I would have preferred more abundance in the biography and son videos, but overall i liked it. Very user friendly.

The other page I looked was http://www.pinkspage.com/us/forum/pnk-fan-club-invitation. It has news about her and her music, music, videos, store access, photos, comments by fans, information about the tour. It has everything I expected and more. It doesn't have a biography but I guess if you are a fan you already know her life. Very user friendly, colorful and with pictures of her in the background.

This activity was great, made me focus on other things like music, instead of something wrong with the world. For me music really is a way of escaping reality and have some peace. I didn't really learn anything about my artists that I didn't already knew, I'm kind of a stalker of them in the internet so I'm always up to date. The only thing I found out was that Pink sells clothes, I had no idea. The internet is super important for artist because is an easy way to gain fans and to stay relevant. Also to release music and videos, gain views and therefore fans...that are after all the ones that make them famous. The internet can be detrimental too for an artist, some examples: the illegal free music download, if they post something bad it goes viral in seconds, their lives are exposed more easily and faster. The internet has it's ups and downs but it's something this generation can't live without.
